The ftp was on a different iSeries, our Web Server in the DMZ.  Boss heard 
about that and when he heard that a ftp from the same source system to a 
different target machine not in the DMZ ran in a small fraction of the 
time he decided that the network people are going to have some chores 
tomorrow.

Guess I shouldn't complain about Domino and it's paltry .071GB/minute data 

transfer rate.  FTP between two iseries, (again in the same room), is 
running at .004GB/minute

I am using the Akornn software to replicate all the databases from a 
Domino partition on one server to a Domino partition on another server. 
I've been a happy customer for years.

To make a long story short, we decided to delete all 733 mail files from 
the backup server and re-replicate them from the primary.

The problem is the speed of the transmission.  We have 733 mail files 
consuming 163.9GB.  I've been checking it on a periodic basis, and logging 


these time samples in to an excel spreadsheet.  It transfer, on average, 
0.323 files per minute, or 0.071GB per minute.
Gigabit ethernet card in both iSeries.
Boss is pretty good at performance.  Both ethernet cards are under 1% 
utilized.
Cisco Kid says that the switch is bored.
On both machines:

I've been told by Akornn, that they are using the C++ Api's.  And when I 
upgrade this to Domino R6 that I'll need to get their upgrade, and to 
download the C++ API's from some IBM url because they drop them as a 
default in R6.

I've been promised that URL and the new upgrade via email, but it seems to 


be taking awhile...
