Anyone access DB2 blob data from Domino? If so, how?

Let's say you had this sample database from ibm:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/sqlp/rbafymst384.htm#HDREMPLOYEEPHOTO

How would you go about inserting and retrieving data from it via Domino?

We already access DB2 data for inquiries via Domino. The trip is the BLOB
field.

Our application is this. We will have a iSeries based application
generate a PDF file. Then we want to associate that PDF file with
particular other DB2 data. We were thinking a blob field made sense. Once
the iSeries based application did that, then Domino could access that
data.
