They farm out their support of OS/400 and OS/390 to another company. You have to hunt hard and long on their website to find it but here's a link. http://www.antivirus.com/download/patches/smln_info.htm Rob Berendt ================== A smart person learns from their mistakes, but a wise person learns from OTHER peoples mistakes. paul.lecky@paradisef ood.com.au To: domino400@midrange.com Sent by: cc: domino400-admin@midr Fax to: ange.com Subject: Re: Trend scanmail and AS400 10/14/2001 05:00 PM Please respond to domino400 Tony, You are fully justified in asking your question. I am looking at Scanmail for our company and have already spoken to MSD on the subject. I went to TrendMicro after a recommendation from a happy Scanmail user. Unfortunately I found their pre sales support to be nothing less than a total waste of time. After checking their website and finding that nearly all the companies listed as authorised resellers are also listed as not being authorised to sell any TrendMicro products, I decided to give them a call. After calling every day for a week and receiving nothing but empty promises, I was finally contacted and told I could download all I needed form the website. If I had all day to sit and download all the TrendMicro products I am interested in I would have. The point is when I wanted to talk to somebody they could not be bothered. If it were not for the number of positive references to Scanmail in the mailing list and that I know from previous experience I can rely on MSD for support, I would not be doing any business with Trendmicro. This is a valid concern. For example, if I was to call at some odd time and repeatedly get someone who was not their 'A' player and have to wait until the next day, I could get a little tired of that. Not saying that this would happen in this case though. Just a generalization of getting local references on support.
