Perhaps he wanted to see if the support 'down under' was as good. This is a valid concern. For example, if I was to call at some odd time and repeatedly get someone who was not their 'A' player and have to wait until the next day, I could get a little tired of that. Not saying that this would happen in this case though. Just a generalization of getting local references on support.
