Part 2: In desperation I decided to reinstall Development Tools for iSeries Version 5.1 It said to sign on with administrator authority. So far as I know, I have that on my XP box. Does that help shed any new light? --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: CODE/400 Discussion & Support Date: Monday, March 24, 2003 07:45:50 To: CODE/400 Discussion & Support Subject: Re: Code Edit won't open So you have no programs in the Task Manager that start with evf? This has happened to me when evfcsrvd.exe gets confused. I am wondering who keeps the comm daemon. There must be some runaway process running somewhere. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------- Edmund Reinhardt, AS/400 AD Tools, reinhard@xxxxxxxxxx Dept 607, IBM Canada Lab TL 969-4392 Phone 905-413-4392 "Booth Martin" <Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: code400-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 24/03/2003 01:01 AM Please respond to CODE/400 Discussion & Support To: <code400-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc: Subject: Code Edit won't open Tonight Code Edit refuses to open. When I attempt to open the program the icon becomes an hour glass for a few seconds, then nothing. No program seems to be listed in the task manager except rxapi. I've also noticed that I can not close the communication deamon for longer than a few moments. It opens up again, unasked. Windows XP, 512 RAM. Code Edit worked yesterday, doesn't today. I have added no new hardware nor software that I am aware of. Code Designer opens as does Client Access and all other programs Any ideas would be appreciated. --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx ---------------------------------------------------------
