I think I need to clarify the design, since everyone seems to be commenting on it. 1) When you click the 'X', CODE Editor does not CLOSE. The window is merely hidden. This is by design for PERFORMANCE reasons, and will not be changed. 2) When you do File->Exit, all editor processes are terminated and settings are saved at that point. 3) If you "closed" the window using the 'X' and then shut down your machine, the settings may not be saved as the operating system may abnormally terminate the editor process, rather than asking it nicely to close. 4) This behaviour comes to us "free" from the base editor that CODE builds upon. I have requested that they change this behaviour, they have changed some settings so that they get remembered, but they refuse to do this for all settings for performance reasons. Whether the CODE team will be able to override the base editor behaviour isn't known right now. I have heard this complaint before and we have heard your opinions here again and we see that the general consensus is to save the settings "live" so that even when the 'X' is pressed, settings are remembered. We will try our best to get CODE Editor to behave itself. Don't, however, try to sell a flaw as a feature... it diminishes your credibility! First of all, I do not know if it has been purposely designed this way or not. Of course, I cannot make any excuses to say that it cannot be done easily. However, personally, I would prefer to leave the design as is, since it provides me an escape, not to save my current session settings sometimes, in my daily work.
