My first attempts at using the debugger had the same results. No warning or error message anywhere, but no results either. Have you done a STRDBGSVR from a terminal window? If so and you still can't get IDEBUG to start up then do a ENDPJ SBS(QSYSWRK) PGM(QSYS/Q5BWHSRV) OPTION(*IMMED) from the same terminal window then try STRDBGSVR again. I have also found that I have to qualify any editor external commands (.EXE) files with the path name when I use them in macros (but not from the command line which is weird). This is an anomaly that the CODE developers have not been able to replicate though, so it may be just particular to my installation but if all else fails you could try that also. Good Luck, -Don BTW, once I got it up and running it's been good to work with (not great but good). I never could get used to the IBM supplied AS/400 debugger (I pleaded and sniveled until my employers bought Extermin8 to shut me up), as I was used to the Borland PC debugger which rocked! -----Original Message----- From: Chris Proctor [mailto:cproctor@gartsports.com] Sent: Friday, September 13, 2002 8:35 AM To: CODE400-L (E-mail) Subject: Debugging batch jobs I have a situation where I have a menu that submits the job I want to debug. I submit it on hold, but when I go into the debugger and pull up my job list it only shows my interactive session. Why is this? Obviously, it's submitted with my userID. If I display all jobs in the job list and select mine, it says that it's not found. Am I doing something wrong?
