Craig - you _really_ have me confused now. The only time you need to refresh cache is if you _know_ that you have changed one of the files (including any /COPY files) used by the program. If the only file you have changed is the program source, then the 400 is not involved and there is no need to refresh. The verify is done on the PC. The 400 is only consulted if no caching is used or if the required file is not in the cache. As to verifying on the 400 - you already have that - just do a No Gen compile - it is the same thing. However it would be pointless. Verify with cache is the right way to go - we just need IBM to make a few improvements. Jon Paris Partner400
