Jon,

Thanks for the info.  I'm using GOBACK in the COBOL programs, rather 
than EXIT PROGRAM.  Perhaps that is the problem.  If I use EXIT PROGRAM, 
with the CONTINUE RUN UNIT option, will there be any negative impact 
when run the set of programs in batch?  The CONTINUE RUN UNIT option of 
is not referenced in the ILE COBOL/400 manual.
