Patrik,
Early RPG III experiences - yes, they were a few years ago now.

Jon,
I was close, there is a conversion, but not by the compiler.
From the manual:
Floating-point numbers: In the RPG/400 language, floating-point numbers
cannot be defined. Therefore, you should use packed decimal or zoned
decimal fields. The data is converted to floating-point when you call a
graphics
routine using CALL GDDM.

not relevant for Patrick and his project, unless he uses an RPG III
example, in which case he should follow the doco.

The RPGIII examples I found all went through:
- Does it compile with RPGIII?
- Shove it through CVTRPGSRC

Afterwards, especially the definitions made much more sense to me. :-)

I've forgotten most of my early experiences with RPGIII. I specs? E specs?
Ugh! ;-)

:wq! PoC
