My gut feeling, without doing too much investigation, is your idea will  work 
as far past experience CEA file activity seems to not overlap other  BPCS 
sub-systems too much.
 
Is it posible for you to test your plan on a test system this before you do  
it ?
 
6 hours seems alot of time to run any program.
