Good News Everybody!

A new search engine is coming soon.

As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

At my former company, we used Symbol LRT3800 RF scanners for this same
thing. The LRT3800 operated in the 900Mhz Spread Spectrum bandwidth.
Symbol also had a later series that operated at 2.4Mhz. I know that
Intermec and LXE also offer the 5250 emulation with their products. We
bought our equipment through Peak Technologies, a division of Moore Business
Forms. Peak offers sales and service for barcode hardware from a number of
different suppliers. If you'd like, I can put you in touch with our Peak
Account representative.

Best of Luck.

Subject: AS/400 Wireless Barcode Scanner

Hi,

Does anybody know of a product that takes the place of the IBM 2482 bar code
scanner for the AS/400? We are looking for all the components: the scanner,
the network card for the AS/400, the antenna, etc.

For those not familiar with this product. This is a real time scanner for
the AS/400 that emulates a 5250 terminal. Thus any information that you
enter is immediately, without any other process, available to all the other
AS/400 users. It is wireless, uses a battery, can accept a variety of bar
code symbologies. Since it emulates a 5250, you can use an RPG program to
do the data collection.

Thanks,

Mindaugas Bielskus
