Companies like: Intermec, Symbol, HHP, and LXE are only a few. What you should look for are companies that have local rep in your area that they could come out to your site and bring along some demo equipment for your users to try. If you are looking into using the portable devices, you can get these devices with 5250 emulation on them. Using a middleware solution could help you with your screen development to those portable handhelds. There are many types of middleware solutions available that can meet your needs and skill level. We are looking for all the components: the scanner, the network card for the AS/400, the antenna, etc. For those not familiar with this product. This is a real time scanner for the AS/400 that emulates a 5250 terminal. Thus any information that you enter is immediately, without any other process, available to all the other AS/400 users. It is wireless, uses a battery, can accept a variety of bar code symbologies. Since it emulates a 5250, you can use an RPG program to do the data collection. Thanks, Mindaugas Bielskus _______________________________________________ This is the SSA's BPCS ERP System (BPCS-L) mailing list To post a message email: BPCS-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/bpcs-l or email: BPCS-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/bpcs-l. _______________________________________________ This is the SSA's BPCS ERP System (BPCS-L) mailing list To post a message email: BPCS-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/bpcs-l or email: BPCS-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/bpcs-l.
