We are on 4.05 CD running a model 170. We have been fairly happy with BPCS since going live in late 80's then converting to 405 CD in 98. We also downsized, and traded in our SSAX license for one of smaller number of users. I have no idea where our filled in sizing questionnairre ended up, but we will need to rethink that stuff anyway when we do our next box upgrade, since our mix of twinax and PCs, and other stuff is totally different now than the last time we did our sizing analysis. We shifted all tech support contracts to if you not use, you not pay, which means that instead of thousands of dollars per year flat fee for service we might not need, it is a few hundred dollars when we make a service call, but I have to get management approval to make them, which means that if the boss does not understand the problem, we can't get it fixed. Within the last few months, shortly after an OS/400 version upgrade to V4 something, we started experiencing CPW performance warning messages. I have been studying our application modifications, and moving to JOBQ instead of on-line wherever practical. Needless to say, this is something I been unable to explain to the boss. Our modifications do use a good bit of SQL. I think we have been averaging 2-3 CPW warning messages a month. I have no idea what our CPW rating is. >I'm listening with interest, considering doing almost the same thing, but >going to a model 170. CPW's rule.
