In addition to the other excellent comments I would add one caution about
using Confirm By Order: It will only pick-confirm up to the amount of
inventory that is in stock. It will not drive inventory negative. If your
shop reporting lags behind shipping by even a minute, and you are pick
confirming items then loading them on a truck right off the assembly line
(The APICS JIT nirvana) it will pick confirm the order up to the quantity
the BPCS shows in stock. Picking by line allows you to drive stock negative.
This was the state of Confirm By Order in v6.0.02.
