COM does not exist in 6.1.00 GA, so you can't use it. It was removed between the Controlled Release and the GA release, and is no longer supported by R&D. Order Entry GUI runs through the NEWI 2nd Generation interface on 6.1.00 Full Client Server, and is a green screen program in Mixed Mode 6.1.00. I know we do have customers who use Full Client Server Order Entry (from viewing HelpLine call logs). From what I heard, the response time was better than with the old 1st Generation ALAUNCH/COM interface. We would be most interested to know if this is not the case. If it does run poorly for you, this should be investigated through HelpLine and if neccessary, a BMR could be done or we could investigate what is different about the particular set up that would be causing it to be slow.
