I've implemented laser printing of checks at several clients. In these
instances they used a 3-rd party Forms package called EZPrint. Besides checks,
its also used to print paperwork like acknowledgements, pick lists, invoices,
po's, etc.

EZPrint makes check printing implementation a snap. The check is easily
designed on a PC then uploaded to the as/400. You can scan a signature and
have it printed as well. Conditional printing is supported and I use it print
the signature on check if the amount is less than a certain value, lets say
$1000. MICR is also supported, so you can generate the entire check on the
laser printer and don't need any pre-printed checks.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Boris Goldenberg
