Dick, Is the problem one of performance on your AS400 or is it a procedural problem? If the problem is performance then there are lots of posts on this listserve dealing with ways to improve the speed of your programs. If the problem is procedural, then I recommend you use ARP instead of Cash and Memo Posting. With ARP you simply download the batch file from your banks lockbox and let the system post the receipts to the A/R file. I had one client who had 7 temporary workers bundled up in a trailer outside their offices and they were two weeks behind. After we installed ARP they got down to 1 person doing A/R posting for 4 hours per day. If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to call me. This is complicated by the fact that a large part of monthly cash receipts arrives (by plan) between the 25th and 31st of the month. Also by a large volume of invoices and therefore receivable records. It has progressed to the point where we may not be able to apply all the cash by the end of the month. If we do this month, we may well not be able to do it next month. Any suggestions as to how to solve, reduce or minimize the problem?
