It is suggested to run the program when no one is using the BPCS, and I use to run it every Sunday for one of clients and I had it run into Monday couple of times when people are using the system but have not seen any issues. Also I looked at the program logic at that time and it looked to me that it will not have negative impact running the program while people are using order entry/. I am currently using v6.0.04 and if you want I can check the logic again for you. I realize this might kill performance on the system but other than that will it hurt anything else. Has anyone written separate programs for this process. OUr company has not run this job properly for the last several months and the files are very large. The job has been run the last couple of weekends but is taking forever to run due to the size of the files and that it hasn't been run properly with correct parameters selected. We're currently running it with the option '3' to both close and purge the files. Up until recently the job had been run with only the close option therfore the files are very large and now we are killed by the time it takes to complete. I realize this initial time may take much longer due to the previous run parameters selected. Any suggestions. We can rewrite this in RPG is we knew what files and fields to update. We don't have an ASSET programmer in house. +--- | This is the BPCS Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to BPCS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to BPCS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to BPCS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: dasmussen@aol.com +--- +--- | This is the BPCS Users Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to BPCS-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to BPCS-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to BPCS-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner: dasmussen@aol.com +---
