You might want to look at a product from Gumbo Software
http://www.gumbo.com called SpoolMail.
I just bought it so I could email reports to my users.
SpoolMail will send email with the reports as attachments
in various formats. I'm sending them as PDF files that
they can then use the Acrobat viewer to read/print/search.
Less chance that someone would alter it than if it were
straight text or an RTF.
