We recently purchased Brad Stone's SPLTOOL software. It was pointed out to
us by Doug. (Thank you, Doug). It has been working very well for our
purposes. We use it to easily move spool file into PC files, AS400 files
and to copy page ranges for restarting reports. The page range copy is
necessary because IBM's current support for TCP/IP attached impact printers
(thru print servers - like HP Jet Direct) does not allow the normal AS400
restart to work. The report always starts over at the beginning. The page
range copy creates a new report containing only the page range specified.
Some of this can be done without having SPLTOOL, but for the cost of $40, it
makes the action a lot simplier and quicker.
