Roberto,

Yes, the 571B is a long card, and came with an internal cable. I don't have
an external disk expansion unit, and I'm not using the external ports. The
original 2844 controller was about half the size of the 571B.

It has been a while, but I seem to recall attaching the 571B cable to the
new 4-disk back-plane.

The 571B is a long card with 2 external and 2 internal (the same 2 in
reality) U320 SCSI ports. Where did you wire those ports? Wait, you say you
replaced the original controller. Does that mean that you never had the
integrated raid card? the one that goes in a special slot under the disks
from the front?

Roberto,

The 2 disk back-planes are internal. And the new controller (571B)
supports
both, if I recall correctly. I removed the original controller, and
placed
the 571B in that slot.
