Nathan,

Our 9405-520 V7R1....
C6 - 2844
C4 - 571B, which attaches to 5786 external disk
Our additional backplane for the 2nd group of 4-disk in the CEC is the 28D2
(sounds like your back plane is the 29xx or one that requires another
controller)
Our internal 5709 controls both CEC groups of 4.

The 571B is a long card with 2 external and 2 internal (the same 2 in
reality) U320 SCSI ports. Where did you wire those ports? Wait, you say you
replaced the original controller. Does that mean that you never had the
integrated raid card? the one that goes in a special slot under the disks
from the front?

Roberto,

The 2 disk back-planes are internal. And the new controller (571B)
supports
both, if I recall correctly. I removed the original controller, and
placed
the 571B in that slot.
