Dan:

If you had Mike Faust's GETMESSAGES subprocedure/service program and the GETMESSAGES user-defined table function defined on your system, you could do the search dynamically like this:

SELECT *
FROM TABLE(mylib/getMessages('QSYS ', 'QCPFMSG ')) Msgs
where upper(MSGTEXT) like '%LOGICAL%'

Does anyone know of a method to search message files by a text string?

Thanks,
