So ON PenCor06 do:

PING Pencor05

Once that returns the correct address do: (If it doesn't may need a DNS change or Host Table Entry)

mkdir '/QFileSvr.400/Pencor05'

cpy '/JWALK/JWALKAPP/SWC8XXDev/BRC.csh'
'/QFileSvr.400/Pencor05/JWALK/JWALKAPP/SWC8XX/BRC.csh

See how much smoke you make.

Is file BRC.csh a big file? If over 2G, will be a problem.

Larry,

Ok on 1 and 2.
Not sure if /QFileSvr.400 will work.
Here's my specific task at hand.

From Pencor06 need to cpy /JWALK/JWALKAPP/SWC8XXDev/BRC.csh
To Pencor05 /JWALK/JWALKAPP/SWC8XX/BRC.csh

Subject: Re: Moving IFS objects from one LPAR to another

Paul meet /QFileSvr.400/ /QFileSvr.400/ meet Paul. :-)

All you need to make this work is:

1) same user and password on both Servers (LPAR)
2) the system name works when you PING servername
3) Create the directory servername under /QFileSvr.400/

Such as /QFileSvr.400/servername

Now you can use WRKLNK, or CPY or other IFS type commands to push or pull files between servers. Note that there is a 2G file size limit here.

I tried using SAVRST, but SAVRST only works if the path is exactly the same.
SAVRST also has many restrictions.
Is anyone aware of another command or tool for moving IFS objects across LPARS?
We currently use SAVRSTOBJ and SAVRSTLIB for our non-IFS objects, no issues here.
