Ricky,

Now I was thinking of using Google Talk. They used to let you send
SMS through it, now I see they've limited it, and only allow certain
applications to use it. My new application lets you send messages to
Google Talk or Jabber client, I couldn't trick it to let me send SMS
in this case it seems. :)

Oh well, SMS will one day go the way of the fax vs email hopefully.
:) Instant message is so much nicer and keeps the carrier out of the
loop making things a lot easier.

Add a GSM SIM card from your cell wireless provider (AT&T most likely)

Add one of these http://www.moxa.com/product/nport_5110.htm to connect to the iSeries

Get this http://www.spacetec.co.uk/blueseries-sms-communicator.htm to make your life easier using the above

Now if the iSeries supported USB or blue tooth, I could connect to a cell and send all these messages :) ATT would love that.

Anyone know how to connect an iSeries to a cell phone??

Because the providers have interchange agreements in place.
