Looks like you have focused on the GUI interface. I combine the green
screen
and the GUI and can produce a report with SEQUEL a whole lot faster
than I
can with a program.

I have never used Viewpoint. The things I identified, I enter through
SEQUEL's green entry screen.

OK, you caught me exaggerating. I just hate programming to two standards.
The one (and only) saving grace for SEQUEL is that it can produce a report
or various IFS formats, which does leave STRSQL and the IBM offerings in the
dust. But why, oh why, do they insist on creating their own standards when
we have ANSI to make sure that doesn't happen?!?!

If there's no report involved, I'll drop to STRSQL every time, and I *will*
(read "do") write programs for reports rather than propagating SEQUEL's
deviances to Production. Even though (he says with chagrin) it does take
longer.
