Dang! You're right! I ran this out untested because I *trusted* that QSH
followed KornShell standard, as it almost always does. But,
disappointingly, not in this case.

So that you know, the man page on mkdir states, about the -p switch: "No
error if existing, make parent directories as needed." But I was wrong to
post without testing.
