WDSC does a lot of things really well, but for plain old RPG /free
development I find few advantages over PDM.

I'm glad to hear that someone feels the same way I do. I was beginning to think that something is wrong with me.

I've been using PC based editors since before OS/2 was Warp. I also had a long stint with the mainframe Xedit. That gives me a somewhat different history and viewpoint from many System i programmers.

Like Scott, I feel like the features typically advertised for WDSC don't do anything for me. I had a love affair going with Code/400, and the major reason wasn't screen real estate, coloured tokens or matching IF...ENDIF.

I'll keep it short because the WDSC list is a better audience, but the main things I found valuable in Code were ReXX macros and regular expressions. Eclipse (the base of WDSC) does not have a macro facility, but regular expressions are alive and well.
