Hello Dan,
As Vern mentioned you could always look at some of the open source
utilities or work with a vendor like RJS who has done a lot of work with
Postscript and PDF files.
If you're open to working with a vendor on this project, feel free to
contact me directly to further discuss your needs in detail.
We just might be able to come up with a solution for you.
Regards,
Richard Schoen

How about that there is a raft of free open source or public domain
software for AIX that can be used from the iSeries. How about that with
ghostscript you can print PDF files natively from iSeries? Stuff like
that.
Heh!

It's not a matter of whether we have the CDs to install it (and we're at
v5r3), but it's a matter of having to go through five or more levels of
bureacracy to get it done. Along the way, it needs to be justified.
Gotta
be more than "just wanna try Ghostscript to see what it can do for us".
Might not be that bad for the test box, but the production box is where
they
do QA testing (no lectures please), and this is where we would utilize
Ghostscript.
