Hi List

I am very new working with AS400 OS and am using an oldish AS400 for
training. I have recently fresh installed an OS version V4R5MO and have
what appears to be a perfectly valid licence.

I have entered the key many times along with the relevant parameters but
the key is refused. The variables on the enter key screen match the
licence document - this screen appears before we can login, hence the
machine is not usable at the moment.

This is the sequence of events leading up to the lockout:-

Went through the process to format the disk to remove all traces of the
old OS and user settings.
Set IPL Mode to B M entered DST, Deleted ASP data.
Set IPL Mode A M entered DST selected re-install OS installed OS 3 cdrom
disk set.
Disks 'reformated' automatically.

Was able to login with a 70 days grace period.
Attempted to enter the OS licence - was rejected.

Applied PTF's for all licenced software anyway.
Change system date CHGSYSVAL QDATE format 'mmddyy' (to somewhere around
2001) Change system date CHGSYSVAL QDATE format 'mmddyy' (back to current
date - on second thoughts 'the keys don't expire')
IPL - the PTF's present apply menu - skipped this step.
System locked out - need to add licence - not accepted.

Help - would like to recover many hours of work.

Thanks in advance -

An AS400 newbie.
