Plus, Aaron, our 520 came configured for HMC, which we didn't order, and it proc checked its little heart out. Had to get Rochester on the phone to walk me through a complicated and tedious process to change it to twinax. We were on V5R3 but I would think it would be similar under R4. Since you say that you have the 01 B N on the control panel, that, too, is an indication that your system is not configured for HMC.

And if your system was configured for HMC it would say HMC = 0 on the
control panel right now - and it doesn't, so you're clear!
Agreed on the 65 21 gig - have fun and do it QUICKLY... I think you get
45 seconds between each press of the "enter" button.

Does it sound like my system was sent to be configured with an HMC?

There is a procedure in InfoCenter (search for console service
functions) that you can use to identify how your server is set up. The
procedure is based on using the operator panel functions 65 and 21 in
various combinations. You can also use this procedure to change the
console type if necessary.

Good Luck!
