Dave,

  One trick I use fairly effectively is to connect the 3570 but then 
vary on and try to use the 3995.  Of course this will fail miserably 
because the 3995 ain't there but the process seems to convince the 
system that it needs to re-examine the SCSI bus and it finds the 3570.
