Hi Paul,

The direction of the data transmission differs from application to
application.
For example: When the fieldworkers register quality data, it needs only
to be uploaded.
But for other purposes they need to get information from our database,
verify and update it, and send it back.
I think we'll end up in a real time environment. That will also cause
minimal changes to the 5250 applications if I understand right. But
bandwidth costs can be a problem when working realtime. 
There is no experience here with PDA programming, so I think local apps
on the PDA will be out of order.
