Bill, We recently increased memory in our Model 720. Memory is installed from the bottom slots to the top. You do need to power down the system and remove a _bunch_ of screws to get the side cover off. The System Handbook says that the 730 also has a "Continuously Powered Main Storage" - battery backup for the memory. I remember the maintenance manual had instructions on how to handle that. I'd suggest you find that and follow the directions.
