The simplest approach is to save to a savefile, on the AS/400, then save the savefile to tape during the day. Do you have enough empty disk space to accomplish this? The command would be SAVLIB LIB(libname) DEV(*SAVF). I asked the question with the idea of backing up the AS/400 to this device at night, possibly duplicating over WAN/internet to another box, and spooling to tape during the day. The LPAR concept sounds good, although wouldn't I have to buy another license of OS/400 to do it? -- Tom Jedrzejewicz tomjedrz@xxxxxxxxx -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
