Yes we are using the Team Room function. My people had a short learning curve but they really like it. There is one thing that I think they could work on is the Rules. Like in Outlook you can go to Organize and setup your rule based on an existing message, this does not exist in Notes 5.10 at least. But other than that we live by it. We are using the Team Room template with some modifications for support tracking. It someone calls in with a problem it is entered in the systems and assigned to someone or a group. Everyone works off of this. They document every call or issue so we can have a great trail as to what occured and how it was resolved. I had been running MS xchange 2000 using active dir and we have no end to problems. We wound up rebooting at least 3 to 4 times a week. Web access was full of security issues. I never used Lotus Notes before ,and you can check with the guys at Bass Pro , that I was very reluctant to use Lotus Notes. After the problems we had with Exchange I knew the next platform had to be stable. We requested a Loaner Dedicated Domino Server from IBM and got to keep it for 2 months. During that time we had Zero (0) unscheduled downtime. It just keep on running. It ran so well that we had the Domino Server forward the mail to the Exchange Server and vice versa. We setup users in Lotus Notes and they loved being able to get their mail while others would struggle with Exchange. This is just to say that we are extremely pleased with the Lotus Notes solution. We are using GroupWise as our email software. Overall we are pretty satisfied with it, but some are pushing for a switch. To what is the question. Lotus Notes is one option. Doesn't this run on the AS400? Can I get some feedback from those who use it there and especially from those who made a switch from GroupWise or Outlook (the other option)? What about performance or dasd space considerations? What about remote access like via the web? I know nothing about Lotus Notes so go easy on me. If anyone is using other packages and want to give their opinions I would appreciate those as well.
