Sounds like I might be better off putting the load source on 2 6606 mirrored drives in the MFIOP and then add my 4 6607 drives into an expansion until with the raid card, does that sound right to you? I could get by with the mirrored 8 gig system also. I guess I will have to check out some prices and see if it is worth it for me. cjg Carl J. I have a 9402-40S, which is very close cousin to the 9402-400. From what I was told back when I did it, the 4 DASD slots on in the base tower are driven directly by the MFIOP. You can mirror one or two sets among the those 4 drives. The MFIOP does not support RAID. The 6502 can only be installed in a 7117 expansion chasis. I installed my own off parts obtained via eBay. I have four 6606's off the MFIOP in two mirrored pairs. And a full set of eight 6606's in the 7117 expansion which are using RAID off a 6502 card. Without the expansion, the best you can do is four 6607's in two mirrored pairs off the MFIOP, so you'd have roughtly 8GB protected. The good news is the price of a 7117 has gotten real cheap on eBay (or even a machine from which to rob a 7117 to bolt onto your 400).
