If you are talking about RPG then you can use the IN and OUT op codes.
Otherwise I don't think the difference would be significant. Either way will
involve a CALL to a program. For documentation purposes I would go with a
C/L program.

Hey all,
If I wanted to interrupt a HLL program to have it change a *DTAARA,
would it be
more efficient to use the QCMDEXC call and send the CHGDTAARA
command ?
(or)
Would it be better if I wrote a small CLP that does the CHGDTAARA
command ?
