Why on earth would ANYONE want to bypass what is essentially a security
consideration. If the sign-on with a valid usercode AND password is bypassed,
what are you opening yourself up for?
So a person has to take time out to remember to sign-on, a total of 20 to 40
seconds at most. Compare this to the time it would take to rectify a vicious
hackers work, after he/she had finished playing with YOUR system. Then
answering YOUR boss why you thought saving 20 to 40 seconds, 4 times a day was
a good idea.

This is a security blanket - I hope there is not a "patch", but I do not
know of one, someone
else on the list may...

Might I ask you this, why ODBC, can you FTP the file; which when done
"properly" can bypass
the the userID and password issue for a "batch" process.

Subject: Client Access ODBC

Does anyone know how to eliminate the need to enter the password every time
an ODBC connection is started. We have a time and attendance job that
uploads punches to our AS/400 (V4R4) four times a day. We have to enter the
password each time the job runs. It seems that there should be an option to
enter this once and then let the job run on auto-pilot, but we haven't found
it. Maybe there's a patch? Any help is appreciated.
