Thank you for your help.

I found that the old program had a CHGJOB INQMSGRPY(*SYSRPYL) and that
had several messages trapped. I have added this message (CPA4067) to the
system
reply list.  Only a very few jobs run using the system reply list to answer
messages.

I did not realize that there was a difference between escape and inquiry
messages.
