Bull! (Warn the company your predecessor went to) You can gain a real advantage by externally defining your files. So long as the external definition is in sync with your program description of that file you can handle the mixed environment. Once you clean up the RPGII code to stop introducing data decimal errors you can begin replacing your S/36 procedures with native commands and programs. BTW, Even in a non S/36 environment you can have your menus perform a STRS36PRC to execute the old procedures.
