I've mentioned before that IBMs support for Node seemed a little
half-hearted

Could you describe how you have that perception so we can work to address
it? IBM is dedicating more to open source (including NOde.js) than they
ever have before (my perception). And they're doing it in the open on
BitBucket repos.

documentation seems sparse to non-existent at the moment (try Googling
"ibm i" rpm yum" - grrrr)

Go here (krengel.tech/ibmioss-rpms ) and you'll find the main page for the
RPM stuff. That will lead you to the getting started page:
http://krengel.tech/ibmioss-rpm-getting-started

Install is fairly straight forward.

..yeah, that's another issue, I've mentioned before that IBMs support for
Node seemed a little half-hearted, which maybe a bit unfair, but their
track record with open source tools isn't great, they're always miles
behind the current version in my experience and trying to install anything
in PASE was a complete nightmare. Aaron (Bartell) recently tweeted news
that RPM and Yum are supported now which I think will make it easier to
keep the open-source stuff up to date, unfortunately documentation seems
sparse to non-existent at the moment (try Googling "ibm i" rpm yum" - grrrr)
