My web pages are never submitted. I use XHR2 exclusively.
That's fine. XHR2 evokes a thread in the browser, establishes a connection
with the HTTP server which "persists" as long as the request is
outstanding, plus a configured keep-alive interval. In the mean time a user
"might" navigate off the page and destroy the "connection".
XHR2 sets up a "callback" which may not be needed. Whatever the server may
be doing, the "browser" may not need to know about it, nor hear back from
the server.
There are several good reasons for letting the "server" handle business
rules without both client and server maintaining connections.
