Lack of a mouse, on the other hand, is a valid point. You should be
able to navigate to any clickable element with the keyboard and hit
enter to trigger the event - but that requires JavaScript :)

Of course all modern browsers support JavaScript, but they also (or

most of them) allow it to be turned off for users who wish to do this.

I throw this out as a pattern for database maintenance that is
efficient, effective, and productive from an end-user's point of view.
It seems that the vast majority of browser based DB maintenance
interfaces that one sees in the wild are rather primitive in comparison.

Many of the mouse and keyboard options may not be apparent at first
blush.
But once you become aware of them, they are quite handy and helpful.
For example, try Ctrl-Click to select multiple rows, then press F2
to activate "Change" mode.
