Which raises a question for which I've never known an answer.

My web site counter registers a couple of hundred hits a week. How many of those are likely to be web crawlers and other non-human hits?

I've heard people way smarter than me give wildly varying answers.

Since you want to be found by google, perhaps google is the best source

Many questions answered, but this one below lets you submit your site to
be crawled.
btw - depending on your web code - their crawler can have issues if
you web pages dynamically created, and you don't take steps to
give the crawler info (how should a crawler categorize you if no
real info activated by the crawler...)

How Google works is a specialty area and is not an exact science. It's
of an art. Aka who knows.
