Giovanni's code is stellar. I don't think he gets the kudos he deserves. I have to believe that along with WRKDBF and HTTPAPI, CGIDEV2 is one of the most used pieces of free software in our community.

(And JTOpen of course. <smile>)

Joe

thanks Joe.

I installed Giovanni's CGIDEV2 and it is working. Very nice install
process he has. It sets all the HTTP directives. I'll review it to see
what I did wrong.

One thing I noticed is CGIDEV2 has a Pass directive for the CGI
program library. And the Exec directive, CGIDEV2 has /cgidev2p where
I had /cgi-bin.

Pass /QSYS.LIB/CGIDEV2.LIB/*
Pass /cgidev/*
Pass /cgidevexthtml/*
Exec /cgidev2p/* /QSYS.LIB/CGIDEV2.LIB/* %%EBCDIC%%

I have my v5r1 system, original web server, serving basic .htm files.
But CGI is not working. How to config for cgi?

here are the WRKHTTPCFG CONFIG entries:
Welcome index.htm
AlwaysWelcome On
DirAccess Off
PASS /* /web/*
Exec /cgi-bin/* /QSYS.LIB/SRICHTER.LIB/*.PGM %%EBCDIC%%

Shooting from the hip here, Steve, but is it possible that you need to
switch your Exec and PASS directives?
