But what's funny is that IBM is going the direction of having system admin
in the browser. The browser app is run by a version of Websphere App
Server.

It seems silly to me that my admin app might need fixes applied to it before
I can use it as an admin tool. I guess my expectation was higher. They
have lowered their quality of service with tools on this side of the
company. I would rather be focused on developing business solutions.

Install cume fixes + ptf groups and then running the installer is too much

As long as we've been current on PTFs, we've *never* had even a hiccup
installing WAS.

If I was IBM I would be pretty embarrassed at how much work it is to
install their flagship app server on an operating system they own. It would
be different if they could excuse themselves because they didn't control ALL
ends of the spectrum - but they do.

When installing WAS7.0 express I got a window with Installation

IBM WebSphere Application Server - Express

I checked out the log file at
/QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V7/Express/logs/install/log.txt and
sent it to IBM.

Basically it's sort of normal and just suggesting that you put on a
service pack.

So, running 7.1 of i I put on the group ptf for WAS7 SF99363 and am
following the steps to upgrade that.

Just sort of an FYI.
