ExtJS does not make PHP obsolete. They could very well complement each
other.

Quite true! Think of ExtJS as HTML+CSS+Javascript on steroids :-) I have
been using ExtJS with RPGUI as of late for some paying customers and I am
loving it more all the time. The learning curve is not small, but that is
mostly because they have made the client side configuration so incredibly
extensive.
