When you say "redirected", are you looking for the server to send an actual
redirect response? If so, mod_rewrite will do this and you don't need to set
up virtual hosts. If you are simply trying to get rid of non-standard ports,
take a look at mod_proxy.
Here's the mod_rewrite documentation:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/misc/rewriteguide.html
Here's the mod_proxy documentation:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod/mod_proxy.html
It doesn't sound like you need to set up virtual hosts (the primary reason
to do that is if you need different content for each of the URL's that maps
to the server IP address). If you decide you still need to do virtual hosts,
the documentation for it is at http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/vhosts/ .

subject: [WEB400] Virtual Host - SPSS
Anyone have a .conf file you would be willing to share that implements
virtual hosts, especially with the SPSS products? A co-worker is planning
on
implementing virtual hosts to allow internal users to hit our iSeries at
port 80 and be 'redirected' to the proper port for SPSS access.
Thanks...
